Forty Something female madly in love with an Accountant.

Total Debt: Working on finding this out....estimated about $30K

I have student loans and other misc. collection items.

Credit Card Debt: 0 (amazing, huh?) they are something I just never got into.

Savings: Undetermined at this point...I have little pockets of money stashed everywhere...credit union, banks, and a bunch of debit cards. I need to get this organized. Also I have a 401K with about $3000 in it.

My goals for 2009: To actually find out what my debt is, cut it in half and take my daughter on a little vacation this year and save for a big vacation to Europe in 2010, even if its backpacking through Europe!

My Rent is Due Tomorrow

Most of my (bare necessity) bills fall around the 15th of the month....I want to get on a schedule so that I pay them all at once.

I have to do a recount and let you know how I did for the month. I did go out to dinner last night....$15.00 for awful service and an unbaked potato.

I am putting off buying milk, mainly for cereal or coffee.....and buying coffee, until I check the best prices....I am a coffee snob....I have my favorites....Starbucks, yes...Starbucks Smile and another local brand....

I was wondering if being very brand specific is more or less expensive? I have been becoming more and more brand specific as I get older - mainly to do with scents...hmmm.....I'm finding that I can focus on these products and find the best deals for them instead of trying to find the best deal on Everything.

Haircare - Pantene, Fructis or Herbal Essence
Laundry - Gain or All
Dentalcare - Crest products
Just to name a few examples...

There are some things I will only purchase a certain brand of, laundry soap and shampoo are the main ones. I think that if you know the brands you like, you can look for them when they are on sale and stock up. It is well worth it to spend the money on certain items that really matter to you than to spend money and not be happy with the product!

Just be happy you are not into Sisley for skincare and Guerlain for makeup.
You got to use what you enjoy and what works for you. Buying something you don't like and that will just go to waste is not that money-saving.
